Using Chess Clock

Chess Clock is operated by James Vanderhaak.

You may use the browser clock for personal and club games. Use the service lawfully and do not interfere with its operation or other people's access.

Time controls and results

Agree the selected time control with your opponent before starting. Fischer increment is added at initialisation and after each completed move. Simple delay does not accumulate. This utility measures time; it does not enforce chess rules, certify tournament compliance, judge positions or determine a winner.

Interruptions and storage

The browser clock pauses when the page loses visibility or the window loses focus. A recovered game is paused and must be checked before resuming. Browser limits, device shutdown, cleared storage and interruptions can affect availability and recovery. Keep the page visible during play and use an appropriate dedicated clock where an event requires one.

Availability and charges

The browser tool is available without a fee and contains no purchases or subscriptions. This website does not sell the iPhone app. Check the app’s listing for any price and access terms before a purchase. Availability and features may change.

Local content and privacy

You control the names you give your local presets. Avoid entering sensitive information into preset names. See the Privacy Policy for storage and hosting information.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or guarantees that cannot legally be excluded, including any applicable Australian Consumer Law rights. Subject to those rights, the clock is provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
